Volunteer with LFC
We could use your help, whether you have office skills, tech skills, or an interest in developing those skills. We need volunteers that can help our organization thrive - by refurbishing computers, installing software, managing volunteers, create marketing material, oversee social media, or do outreach at local events- we have many more positions available too! Check out the current list below or watch our brief video at the bottom of the page (made by a volunteer - thanks Joseph!). If you'd like to know more, just come by and see us, we can show you around - but we'll warn you, that once you come by, you'll be hooked!

Not only do we provide computers to families, fix computers for those who cannot afford the Larger Computer Stores, and rescue computers from being tossed, but as importantly, we give our volunteers a place to be - a place to feel welcomed - a place to boost their confidence - and a place to relieve [some of those that have] depression, or are in a rut of some kind- they have purpose here they might not have anywhere else, and of course, they build their skills, not only technical, but interpersonal. I have gone through all of the above aspects described above, and I'm a better person because I did so. Thank you. PS: I would like to share this letter with you from a volunteer, genuinely speaking from his heart, exposing his perceptions on how LFC changed him as a human being. " Christian Mendelsohn Founder |
Testimonial
"My experience as a volunteer and a customer was great, I got to meet nice individuals, just like me that were trying their best and helping others in the process. I was one of the luckiest people there. I appreciate all the help and learned more about computers in 3 weeks, than in my life. " - Mildred Tostado (2015) "When I started LFC, I knew very little about computers. I learned by being around more skilled people than I. Eventually I learned enough to teach others, and the process continues; that is what LFC is all about: volunteers helping volunteers help our Monterey County community. Our volunteers are very good people- they're warm, welcoming, and are composed of people of all different ages, ethnicities, socioeconomic standings, backgrounds, and skill levels. We encourage any and all questions because volunteers really do like to answer and share information. We are so proud to give volunteers an opportunity to do something they might have not thought possible. We believe in the power of people; that they can do more than they realize with encouragement, love and guidance; yet we allow mistakes, self-exploration and problem solving." |
