How do I donate Equipment?

You can make a donation by visiting us at 938 S. Main St Salinas, CA 93901. We are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 4pm.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY DATA WHEN I MAKE A computer DONATION?

​LFC completely erases every donated computer hard drive per the Department of Defense standards: This is performed by one trusted & long-time LFC volunteer who takes his role seriously. We do not look, copy, manipulate, or boot up your donated computer(s): We fully respect client data and privacy. Hard Drives are immediately removed from donated computers, and secured or wiped. LFC is a Microsoft Registered Refurbisher, therefore data destruction and refurbishing guidelines are strictly followed.​

What if I want to make a bulk donation?

You can fill out our bulk donation form found on our Donate page. A representative will contact you to confirm the pick-up date.

How do i qualify to purchase a computer?

If you are receiving any Social Services such as Medi-Cal, WIC, EBT, etc., you qualify. For a full list of qualifications go to the Buy page. 

Are all of your computers used?

Yes. All of our computers have been donated and refurbished by our volunteers.

Does my purchase come with warranty?

Yes.  Depending on your purchase.

How long is the application process?

The application takes about 10 minutes and you can purchase a computer the same day if you are qualified.

How many computers can I purchase?

Depends on household size and computer availability.

Do you only sell computers to individuals?

No. We also sell to local non-profits who have a valid EIN number.

Do you do Computer Repairs?

Yes. We serve both non low-income and low-incomes individuals as well as other organizations. Our repair rates start at $10/hr for low-income individuals and $30/hr for non low-income.

I spilled water on my computer, do you fix that?

Unfortunately, we do not. We will highly recommend you to purchase a new computer and see if any of your information is salvageable.

How can i become of volunteer?

You can find our application under the Volunteer page. Either fill out the form online (the fastest way) or by paper.

What HAPPENS after i fill out a volunteer application?

Our Volunteer Coordinator will contact you to schedule an interview. After the interview and required forms are finished, you can start as soon as the next day. (Note: not all applicants are accepted)

How old must i be to volunteer?

LFC accepts volunteers as young as 8 years old as long as they have a parent or guardian with them. Both must fill out an application individually and must complete an interview with our Volunteer Coordinator.
